FOSTER CARE PROGRAMS
FOSTER CARE SETTINGS: The dynamics of foster care is such that most if not all of these children have little to no social and emotional skills. They are raised in a system that is not geared to provide any of these necessary skills.
Once they reach the age of 18, they are released into society to fend for themselves. They usually end up homeless, addicted to drugs, lost and finally incarcerated. They seemed to have never had a chance since the beginning of their lives. There seems to be a disproportional number of boys of color (African American, Hispanic and Native American) in this system. This issue will require some special attention.
