KIDS R SPECIAL is an educational organization that specializes in training and teaching social and emotional intelligence at, schools K thru 12, treatment centers, foster care settings, juvenile detention centers, community day schools, and alternative education settings. We use the curriculum developed by the WhyTry organization. WhyTry is an evidenced and strength based curriculum that has proven to be one of the most effective ways of improving the life skills of all its participants by using visual analogies, inspirational music, and kinesthetic exercises. 

Our goal is to touch the heart of every child in the world with the gift of love and kindness. This is a promise that was made by a beautiful, spiritual child, named Rachel Scott (Rachel’s Challenge) and it must and will be kept. We understand the concept that it takes “A village to raise a child.” We are enlisting the help of everyone in the world to make this a reality. Everyone is capable of being part of this transformation. We will go anywhere and help anyone that is involved in the process of improving the life of a child. We have and will continue to design some specialized programs that will meet the needs of the varied and cultural differences of the world’s children. 

Our ultimate goal is to create a world free of prejudice, violence, hunger and poverty. We will not rest until all this has been done, because Rachel would want us to. At the end of your life it will not matter how much money you made, what kind of house you lived in, what kind of car you drove; if you can say that you made a difference in the life of a child then your life has been worthwhile. 

We realize that there are some settings that have financial challenges and they cannot afford the WhyTry Training. Therefore, KIDS R SPECIAL is working diligently to make this service available to as many people and in as many places as possible.  We realize that there is a great need here in America, in additions to places like Eastern Europe, Africa, South America that are suffering desperately. Our mission continues to be, touch the heart of every child in the world with “LOVE AND KINDNESS”.  Rachel’s last wishes WILL NOT BE DENIED.

I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same.
